Why inspecting elevators and Freight elevators?
– To prevent the accidents due to
° the rupture of the cables,
° brakes defect
° the breakdowns in the control device (either of the stopping device of the cabin on    the floors, or of the systems of opening and closing of the landing doors).
– To preserve safety of users, in particular after a several number of accidents which    have occurred within the development of the social housing… 

This makes possible to preserve human lives, against the losses or wounds, and to preserve goods.

Moroccan regulation making inspection obligatory
– 09/04/1953 decrees.
– Moroccan Labor Code.
– Ministerial decrees.

Authorities in charge of the regulation application
Moroccan Equipment and Transport Ministry.

Devices under regulation 
All Passenger elevators, Freight elevators or lifts (device used to move goods or people or both)

Regulation obligations 
– Acceptance tests: Prior to the first use
– Periodic inspection: Annual or semi-annual


Documents to be required when purchasing a lift or a goods lift
No documents required by the Moroccan regulation, but it is recommended to require the safety and maintenance manual and the maintenance register.
